The College has 5 table tennis tables along with the required nets, bats and balls to make it an ideal site for inclusion in the Premier League 4 Sport scheme. Newcastle United Football Club through their charitable arm Newcastle United Foundation and in partnership with the English Table Tennis Association and Cramlington Table Tennis Club are managing the project.
The goverment has provide funding for a table tennis coach to provide coaching and support to pupils of St Mary's School during out of scool hours.
The ETTA coach is also providing coaching at 3 other local schools. Currently (January 2009) the required hall and table tennis equipment at St Mary's is not available at a time when the coach is not otherwise occupied. Discussion is taking place to see whether a solution can be found. When the problem is resoved pupils will be invited to participate in an after school club on immediately after school.
