Cramlington Junior and Vets Tournaments: Sunday 13 January 2008

Cramlington Table Tennis Club held their annual Juniors and Vets tournament at the Sporting Club Cramlington on Sunday 13 January 2008. With an entry of 24 juniors and 17 veterans there was non stop activity over the six hours.

Jamie Dent of Oxhill won the Cramlington Junior tournament for the second year running when he defeated Ben Dawson in the final. Ben’s sister, Debbie, reached the final of the under 15s but lost out to Ryan Richardson. The under 13s was won by Ellis Cooper with a victory over Dean Richardson who was also runner up in the under 11s to Nial Morris of Sunderland.

In the Veterans tournament Barry Richardson beat Nigel Coe in the Over 40s final and was runner up to Steve Ralph in the handicap singles. Mike Dunn won both the over 50s and over 60s events.
