CRAMLINGTON JUNIOR TOURNAMENT Friday 27 February 2009

Twentysix youngsters took part in the Cramlington TTC club tournament on Friday 27 February. Five events were staged and 64 best of three matches were played.

Star of the night was Dean Richardson who won the under 11s and the under 13s and was runner-up to his brother, Ryan, in the Cadet Singles.

Just to keep it in the family Ryan also won the Junior Singles by beating Alex Guttridge in the final.

Omar Elkadi and Ellis Cooper were runners-up in the under 11s and under 13s respectively whilst Akshay Pabary beat Adam Curran to win the Band 1 Junior Singles.

The two most exciting matches of the night were when Dean Richardson and Ellis Cooper met each other in the semi finals of the Cadets followed by the final of the Under 13s. In one match Dean won 11-7 9-11 11-9 and in the second he again came out on top (but only just) winning
