IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR LEAGUE AND TOURNAMENT PLAYERS

ETTA is introducing Individual Membership for players for the season 2010/11 begining September 2010. This means a fundamental change in the way that players are affiliated to the ETTA is to come into force for next season.

All players will have to be members of the ETTA in order to be able to play in the league. Player registration forms will have to be completed for every player and in most cases a separate payment will need to be made to cover their ETTA membership.

The situation was fully explained to all clubs present at the meeting at the League AGM on 8 June. If your Club was not represented at the meeting then it would be wise to view the Agenda and various documents sent to Club secretaries using the links below.

League

Northumberland Table Tennis Ltd is a company limited by guarantee that incorporates the Northumberland Table Tennis Association. NTT is affiliated to ETTA (English Table Tennis Association). As well as taking responsibility for County affairs NTT organises the Northumbria Table Tennis League.

The Northumbria League runs from September to March each season and comprises of 5 divisions each of 12 teams.

In a match there are 9 singles and 1 doubles games completed. A team consists of 3 players for singles and 2 players for doubles. It is normal for 2 of the 3 singles players to also compete the doubles game in a match but a team can use 1 or 2 players additional to those competing in the singles, if they so wish.

The points system is based on one point for each individual game (singles or doubles) won. Thus the winning team can score between 6 to 10 points for a win.

There is also a Summer League running from May to August each year. The summer league is made up of 4 divisions each of 8 teams.

There is also a Team Handicap Knockout Cup in which all teams competing in the League are automatically entered into.

League tables and player averages are compiled regularly by the league secretary and posted to club secretaries. They also occasionally appear in the Evening Chronicle (Wednesday edition) and the Northumberland Table Tennis website and are posted on this website by permission of NTT.

Cramlington Table Tennis Club have representation on NTT with Alan Hedley, Aubrey Drapkin, Nigel Coe and Adrian Barnes being directors of the Company.

This page will direct you to the league tables and players averages plus details of Handicap Cup and other related NTT and League information and/or news.
